Hokkaido's trains are characterized by double-glazed windows to improve cold resistance, and older passenger cars
mainly use the Suha32 and Oha62 series, which have double-glazed windows different from those used for trains south of Honshu.
On the Soya Main Line, C55, C57, and DD51 types are used to pull passenger trains.
